The Bodhi Philosophy

Bodhi fabrics, sarees, dupattas &  garments have been designed, printed & embellished by a team of very inspired artisans, dyers, printers & embroiderers led by me at my studio workshop in Baroda.

As for the design, which of course, is the soul of  the Bodhi studio, my endeavour is to create motifs, forms & patterns that add to the vast repertoire of Indian Textiles that has such an ancient & rich language of patterning. This attempt - to design patterns that have an Indian ethos - probably helps make the look of Bodhi Prints not only distinct but also contemporary & yet classic in genre lending a certain “timeless” appeal.

Hand printing is not only laborious & demanding on time but also requires tremendous skill & judgment on the part of the printer. These traditional methods of printing & embellishing textiles & fabrics not only reveal its maker’s talents but also involve the users in a detailed & passionate production process.  Therefore a handcrafted process can’t help but resonate in the products beauty & this in turn resonates in the way the users enjoy & cherish the Bodhi creation.

Bodhi look is high on making a statement that is understated. What one would call simply - quietly elegant! Perfect for a discerning buyer…
